NEMCC Continuing Education adds new date for Enhanced Concealed Carry Endorsement Training course

New date was added due to overwhelming demand

BOONEVILLE, Miss. (08/23/2024) — Due to overwhelming demand, the Office of Continuing Education at Northeast Mississippi Community College is adding an additional date for its Enhanced Concealed Carry Endorsement Training Course.

Northeast's new Enhanced Concealed Carry Endorsement Training Course is scheduled for Saturday, September 7, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Holliday Hall, with activities contingent on weather conditions.

Participants are required to bring the following:

• Handgun or pistol
• Ear and eye protection
• Belt-style holster and belt
• Minimum of 125 rounds of ammunition

Organizers saw a strong turnout of participants eager to expand their knowledge and skills in concealed carry for their August 10 course and in response to the high level of interest, the college's Office of Continuing Education has decided to offer an additional opportunity for those who were unable to attend the first session.

As with the August class, the September course will be led by state-certified instructors and will cover a comprehensive range of topics, including:

• Basic firearm mechanics and operation
• Concealed carry ammunition overview
• General firearms safety instruction
• Legal instruction on justifiable force, citizen's arrest, reciprocity, firearms transport, concealed carry firearms storage, and accessories such as holsters, safes, and gun locks
• Escalation of force
• Criminal and civil liability
• Firing stances and positions

Cost for the Enhanced Concealed Carry Endorsement Training Course at Northeast is $80.
