NEMCC ALTERS RESIDENCE HALL MOVE IN TO HELP PREVENT SPREAD OF COVID-19
BOONEVILLE, Miss. -- (07/17/2020) — Northeast Mississippi Community College has altered the way it will allow students to move into the college's residence halls to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 (novel coronavirus).
Instead of having the traditional Dorm Move-In Day where all students move into the residence halls at the same time, college officials have formulated a three-day plan to limit the number of people moving into the residence halls.
Students, who are scheduled to live on the first floor of the college's residence halls -- Mississippi, Murphy, White, Wood and Yarber, will be allowed to move into their rooms on Wednesday, July 29.
Students, who are scheduled to live on the second floor of the college's residence halls, will be allowed to move into their rooms on Thursday, July 30.
Students, who are scheduled to live on the third floor of the college's residence halls, will be allowed to move into their rooms on Friday, July 31.
Students, who live in even-numbered rooms, can move in between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. (noon). For students, whose rooms are odd-numbered, they can move in from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m.
All students, parents and college staff, who are assisting with the dorm move-in process, must adhere to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines for social distancing, masks and other personal protection.
If a student requires another date to move into their respective dorm rooms, they will need to contact the Northeast Housing Office to set up an appointment.
It is not too late to register for Fall 2020 classes at Northeast. For those wishing to register, visit the college's website at http://www.nemcc.edu and click the green "Apply Now," button.
Northeast is slated to start classes for the Fall 2020 semester on Monday, August 3 and will finish the fall semester before the Thanksgiving Holidays.
