NEMCC announces Fall 2025 dorm move-in dates

Staggered schedule helps ensure a more efficient and supportive experience for students

BOONEVILLE, Miss. -- (08/07/2025) — Northeast Mississippi Community College has announced the official move-in dates for residential housing on the Booneville campus for the Fall 2025 semester.

Dorm move-in will begin on Sunday, August 10, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. for all students assigned to first-floor rooms in any of the college's residential housing facilities.

Students assigned to second-floor rooms will move in on Monday, August 11.

Those living in even-numbered rooms will move in from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., while those in odd-numbered rooms will move in from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Students assigned to the third (top) floor of any residential housing facility will move in on Tuesday, August 12. Even-numbered rooms will move in from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., and odd-numbered rooms will move in from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Students are permitted to remain in their rooms once they have moved in. However, the Northeast Sodexo cafeteria will not begin serving meals until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, August 12.

Northeast is preparing to begin its seventy-seventh (77th) year of operation on Wednesday, August 13.

Northeast implemented the staggered move-in schedule about five years ago to reduce congestion, enhance safety, and ensure a more efficient and supportive experience for students and their families during the move-in process.

Northeast offers a variety of residential housing options for students, including two men's-only dorms (Yarber and White), two women's-only dorms (Mississippi and Murphy), and one cohabitational residential housing facility, Wood Hall. Recently renovated, Wood Hall features separate living spaces for men and women, divided by secure keycard and mobile credential access.
