NEMCC award-winning Adult Education offering Spring classes

Classes offered in all five of the college's five-county service area

BOONEVILLE, Miss. (01/08/2024) — Northeast Mississippi Community College's award-winning Adult Education department is helping those who made a New Year's Resolution to return to school and get their HiSET or GED easier than ever by providing classes immediately after the New Year for those with the mindset of bettering their lives.

Day and Night Classes for Maximum Flexibility

Day classes are set for Monday, January 29 while night classes will kick off on February 5 and February 6.

Northeast will offer day classes for those interested in all of the counties in the college's five-county service area - Alcorn, Prentiss, Tippah, Tishomingo and Union counties.

Day courses will meet in Corinth, Booneville, Ripley and in New Albany, Monday through Thursdays from 8 a.m. until noon.

Classes in Tishomingo will meet on Tuesday and Thursdays from 8 a.m. until noon.

Night courses are offered in four of the five counties due to demand.

Classes will meet in Booneville, Corinth and New Albany on Monday and Tuesday nights from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. while classes in Ripley will commence on Tuesday and Thursday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.

Empowering Students through Smart Start Curriculum

Northeast's Adult Education department provides an opportunity for students to take the General Education Diploma (GED) test or the High School Equivalency Test (HiSET) exam. By successfully completing these tests, students can earn a high school equivalency diploma and acquire the skills necessary to thrive in today's fast-paced and ever-changing job market.

With a strong commitment to empowering adult learners and providing accessible educational opportunities, Northeast now offers a range of day and night courses designed to cater to the diverse needs of students seeking to earn their high school equivalency diploma and acquire essential skills for the job market.

Open to All Adult Learners

Northeast's Adult Education program is open to anyone aged 16 or older who is not currently enrolled in a public or private school and all classes are offered at no cost with all the necessary instructional materials provided. The program offers a variety of instructional methods, including individualized instruction, small-group learning, and computer-based learning, ensuring that each student's unique needs are met.
