NEMCC Campus Country presents "Hang Tight Honey"

Second Showtime of the year set for Thursday, November 14 in the Hines Hall Auditorium

BOONEVILLE, Miss. (11/13/2024) — Northeast Mississippi Community College's Campus Country is set to host its second Showtime of the 2024-2025 academic year on Thursday, November 14 at 7 p.m. in the Hines Hall Auditorium.

Originally founded in the early 1980s as a country and western performance group, Campus Country has expanded its repertoire over the years to showcase a wide variety of genres, allowing audiences of all musical tastes to find something to enjoy.

Campus Country's versatility has also made it a goodwill ambassador for Northeast Mississippi, performing for the community both on campus and across the region.

Admission to the Showtime is free for Northeast employees and students with a current ID, and just $10 for the public.

With seating limited, the community is encouraged to arrive early.

Doors open for the performance at 6:10 p.m.

Beyond its twice-a-semester Showtimes, Campus Country has a strong presence both at Northeast and in the surrounding area.

Campus Country has performed at three Northeast NOW recruitment events, held open rehearsals for fans, and brought music to the broader community, including the college's five-county service area of Alcorn, Prentiss, Tippah, Tishomingo, and Union counties.

This fall, Campus Country entertained fans at The Triangle in downtown Booneville and served as the featured noon-time performers for the annual Booneville Fall Festival in October.

While this year's group is set, Campus Country is always on the lookout for new talent to join its ranks.

Auditions are held each April for those interested in being part of Northeast's musical tradition.
