NEMCC Campus Country set for second Showtime of 2026-2027

Booneville, Miss. -- (11/02/2026) — Northeast Mississippi Community College's Campus Country will give audiences some "Good Directions" as the group returns to the Hines Hall Auditorium for its second Showtime of the 2026-27 academic year on Thursday, November 5.

Northeast's Campus Country will take the stage at 7 p.m. with a 18-song setlist featuring country classics, rock, pop and blues.

Doors open at 6:15 p.m.

Admission is free for currently enrolled Northeast students and college employees with a valid Northeast ID.

General admission is only $10.

No advance tickets will be sold, with all sales taking place at the door.

Coming off its performance at Northeast's annual Tiger Tent or Treat on Thursday, October 29, Campus Country will follow up its Halloween-week appearance with a full 18-song concert featuring pieces made famous by artists across generations.

Fans will recognize selections such as "The Whiskey Ain't Workin'" by Travis Tritt and Mississippi's own Marty Stuart, "Streets of Bakersfield" by Dwight Yoakam, "Mercury Blues" by Alan Jackson and "Brand New Man" by Brooks & Dunn.

Other country selections include Billy Currington's "Good Directions," which gives the Showtime its name, Johnny Cash's "Understand Your Man" and Lady A's "Downtown."

Campus Country will also step outside its country roots with performances of Blondie's "Call Me," Fleetwood Mac's "The Chain," The B-52's "Roam," Sheryl Crow's "My Favorite Mistake" and Metric's "Black Sheep."

Additional selections include "You're Drunk, Go Home," originally performed by Kelsea Ballerini, Kelly Clarkson and Carly Pearce, and Trousdale's "Wouldn't Come Back," both performances featuring multiple Campus Country vocalists.

Student performers Addison Myrick of Muscle Shoals, Ala., Cade Childs of New Albany, Flannery Wester of New Albany, Emmaline Bennett of Ashland and Ella Porter of New Albany will be featured on stage throughout the evening.

Myrick will handle the title selection, "Good Directions," along with "Brand New Man" and "Bettin' on You," while Childs will take the lead on a variety traditional country numbers.

Wester will perform selections ranging from Lady A's "Downtown" to The B-52's "Roam," and Bennett will be featured on Blondie's "Call Me" while Porter will take the lead on Fleetwood Mac's "The Chain."

Continuing a Campus Country tradition, the group will also perform "I Saw The Light" as the evening's Shirley's Song.

Named in honor of Shirley, Campus Country's original director at Northeast, Shirley's Song pays tribute to the program's beginnings and recognizes the musical foundation established by its first director.

Following Thursday's Showtime, the group will make another appearance Friday, November 6, with a mini performance during Northeast NOW, marking its third performance in just over a week.

For those who cannot make it to Thursday's Showtime, Campus Country will return for two additional Showtimes during the spring semester, scheduled for February 25 and April 15 in 2027.
