NEMCC continues enrollment growth, welcomes more than 3,500 students for Fall 2026

BOONEVILLE, Miss. -- (09/03/2026) — Northeast Mississippi Community College (NEMCC) continues to see enrollment growth as the college begins the fall 2026 semester with 3,502 students, an increase of 79 students from fall 2025 when enrollment totaled 3,423.

While the numbers represent another year of growth for NEMCC, college leaders say the increase is about more than numbers. It reflects the trust students and families place in Northeast to provide an affordable, high-quality education while preparing students for success beyond the classroom.

"After several years of consecutive enrollment growth, this confirms that Northeast Mississippi Community College is deeply aligned with the needs of our students," said Northeast President Dr. Ricky G. Ford. "Everyone is recognizing that quality over quantity with our instruction in the classroom is paramount at Northeast. By consistently providing accessible, high-quality education, we are not only empowering individuals to achieve their career goals but also meeting the critical demand for a skilled workforce across our regional communities. Also, beyond affordability, Northeast's commitment to student engagement has played a pivotal role in attracting students. The college offers a thriving student life experience, with a major focus on mental health, technology in the classroom, and working with industry leaders to train our students to be fully prepared to join the workforce and grow our community."
