NEMCC ESTABLISHES DROP-OFF BOX FOR TORNADO RELIEF

Booneville, MS (03/27/2023) — In response to needs related to massive tornado damage in Mississippi last Friday evening, Northeast Mississippi Community College has established a drop-off box for Mississippi tornado relief.

"We understand the devastating impact that the recent tornadoes have had on our community, and we want to do our part to help those in need," said Dr. Michelle Baragona, Northeast vice president of instruction.

Located in the Student Activities office in the Haney Union on the Booneville campus, the drop-off box will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 12 noon on Friday.

Members of the community, as well as faculty, staff and students are encouraged to drop off donations such as non-perishable food, bottled water, clothing, blankets, and toiletries. A list of requested items is below.

"We are working with reputable organizations to ensure that all donations are distributed to those who need them the most," Baragona continued.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with storm victims across the state."

Donated items will be delivered to storm victims on Tuesday, April 4.
