NEMCC MOVING FORWARD WITH TRADITIONAL FACE-TO-FACE CLASSES, OTHER OPTIONS FOR SPRING 2021 SEMESTER

BOONEVILLE, Miss. -- (10/28/2020) — Northeast Mississippi Community College's marketing slogan is "Moving Forward," and as administrators begin preparations for the upcoming spring semester, they believe looking back is the first step to putting that philosophy into practice.

While students will continue to have options such as ZOOM, online or a hybrid delivery of instruction, Northeast officials are building a 'back to normal,' traditional schedule of in-person classes for Spring 2021.

According to school president Dr. Ricky G. Ford, results from a student survey pointed the college in this direction.

"We are proud to be a student-centered institution," Ford said, "and our students want to be in the classroom.

"We understand this pandemic isn't over, so we will proceed with extreme caution. We will continue to strongly encourage our entire campus community to practice good hygiene, socially distance and wear masks, but our instructors are preparing for the majority of our students to be in their classrooms in January."

Priority registration for currently enrolled students is set for Friday, October 30. Sophomores may begin entering schedules at 8 a.m.; freshmen at 9 a.m. Offices will close at 1 p.m.

Regular registration opens Monday, November 9 and continues through Friday, January 8, 2021.

Administrative offices will re-open following the Christmas/New Year's holiday break on Monday, January 4, 2021. Hours are 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. until noon on Friday.

Office hours will be extended Thursday, January 7, 2021 until 6 p.m. at all campuses (Booneville, Corinth and New Albany).

In-person, full term classes being Monday, January 11, 2021.
