NEMCC PTK sells over 2,300 blocks of cheese in annual fall fund-raiser

Annual event sees honor society sell over 2.5 tons of cheese

BOONEVILLE, Miss. (11/01/2024) — Northeast Mississippi Community College's Iota Zeta Chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society successfully concluded its annual fall cheese sale fundraiser, selling over 2,300 two-pound blocks of cheddar cheese in various flavors.

Northeast's honor society fundraiser's success not only supports the chapter's ongoing activities but will also fund a college-wide initiative aimed at enhancing student spaces on campus.

This year, PTK members offered a selection of mild, sharp, and extra sharp cheddar cheeses.

Each PTK member will hand-deliver the purchased cheese blocks starting on November 14, giving an opportunity for members to personally thank supporters of the fundraiser.

Some of the proceeds from this year's campaign will be directed toward the chapter's college project for the 2024-2025 school year: the refurbishment and redecoration of study rooms in the Eula Dees Memorial Library on the Booneville campus. This renovation effort will include contemporary furniture, updated decor, and other improvements to create an inviting, modern environment for students.

Northeast's Iota Zeta chapter fall cheese sale is a long-standing PTK tradition that enables members of the college's honor society to take part in impactful community projects.
