Built to ready cadets for a law enforcement career, the academy provides graduates with the knowledge and training necessary to serve in municipal police departments, county sheriff's departments, court systems, and other law enforcement agencies throughout Mississippi and the country.

Cost for the academy is $750, which can be paid over the course of the semester, breaking financial obstacles and making training more affordable for future officers.

To qualify, applicants must:

In order to be accepted, cadets are required to pass at least 50 percent on all sections of the entrance PT test.

During the academy, cadets must have access to a weapon and ammunition for firearms training and a patrol car for emergency vehicle operations.

To graduate, cadets must pass the exit PT exam with a minimum score of 70 percent.

Graduates of Northeast's Reserve Officer Training Academy are sought after by local and regional law enforcement agencies, with many going on to successful careers as patrol officers, sheriff's deputies, court bailiffs, corrections officers and security at large events such as football games, concerts, etc.
