NEMCC to host July ServSafe seminar

Last day to register is Tuesday, July 5

BOONEVILLE, Miss. - (07/01/2022) — Northeast Mississippi Community College's Office of Continuing Education will offer a ServSafe Seminar on Tuesday, July 12.

Participants will meet in Holliday Hall, Room 303, for the one-day event.

Cost for the ServSafe Seminar is $155 per participant which includes a textbook, the seminar and all breaks.

For members of the Mississippi Hospitality and Restaurant Association, the cost is only $125.

In December 2019, Mississippi's adoption of the 2017 U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Food Codes became official. It required that the person in charge of all food service operations be a Certified Food Protection Manager and present during all hours of operation. The ServSafe Manager program is approved to train and certify the person(s) in charge in Mississippi.

For those wanting to re-test, the cost is $50, and a rescheduling fee is $30.

Final day to register for the July 12 seminar is Tuesday, July 5, because the Mississippi State Department of Health mandates that students have their books seven (7) days before the workshop and be prepared to be tested the day of the event.

Northeast's Hospitality Management Technology instructor Christy Grissom will lead the one-day event.
