Northeast Theatre Department presents Spring production "I Should Tell You"

Monday, February 23's show will serve as the final production for longtime theatre director Christopher Schager

BOONEVILLE, Miss. -- (02/16/2026) — Northeast Mississippi Community College's Theatre Department will present its 2026 spring production, I Should Tell You, by Michael Maxwell, in the Hines Hall Auditorium.

Curtain rises for the final dress rehearsal on Wednesday, February 18, at 10 a.m.

Two evening performances are scheduled for Thursday, February 19, and Monday, February 23, both at 7 p.m.

Monday's show will serve as the final production for longtime theatre director Christopher Schager, who is set to "exit stage right" after 25 years at the Booneville-based college and multiple seasons directing productions at Northeast.

Admission is $3 for Northeast employees and students and $5 for the public.

Cast members for the 2026 Spring Production include Seth Brasher of Bruce, Trent Mims of Caledonia, Abigail Clayton of Blue Springs, Sadie Crook of Smithville, Kayleigh Ross of Aberdeen, Lincoln Tyler of Rogersville, Ala., Markaya Floyd of Booneville and Landon Ragin of Booneville.

Northeast's theatre program continues to grow as one of the college's most diverse and dynamic student organizations, attracting actors from across the region and beyond the institution's five-county service district of Alcorn, Prentiss, Tippah, Tishomingo and Union counties.

I Should Tell You is a comedic love triangle full of hijinks and slapstick humor that follows millionaire Trent Steele as he tries to purchase the Grand Palace Massage Parlor with plans to demolish the historic block for a new skyscraper. Steele's cash-heavy deal draws the attention of petty con artist Cory and his scheming bookie Kaelan, who concoct a plan to impersonate Steele and steal his money.

Chaos ensues when a determined reporter, Steele's bodyguard, and his wife all enter the fray -- sending the situation spiraling into absurd and hilarious confusion.
