Tishomingo's Hollingsworth wins 2021-22 Most Beautiful title at NEMCC

BOONEVILLE, Miss. -- (11/12/2021) — Northeast Mississippi Community College first-year student Chloe Addison Hollingsworth of Tishomingo was crowned the college's Most Beautiful at the school's annual Parade of Beauties pageant on Tuesday, November 9, 2021.

Due to renovations in the Seth Pounds Auditorium, the college's Parade of Beauties pageant found a new home in the Claude Wright Room of the Haney Union and history returned as well.

Hollingsworth's crowning meant that the Tishomingo freshman became the seventh first-year student in the last eight years that the pageant has been held to win the one-night affair.

Northeast did not hold its Parade of Beauties pageant in 2020 due to the global coronavirus pandemic.

In 2019, Selmer, Tennessee's Kathryn Allen won the pageant and broke a six-year streak of freshmen winning the pageant.

Prior to Allen's win, Booneville's Krystal Jackson was the last sophomore to take home the title of Most Beautiful as the New Site High School graduate bested a 35-contestant field in 2012-13.

Hollingsworth topped a 43-person field on Tuesday, November 9 to take home the title of Most Beautiful.

Hollingsworth was crowned by the college's reigning Most Beautiful for 2019-2020 Kathryn Allen of Selmer, Tennessee and was awarded flowers by Northeast president Dr. Ricky G. Ford.

Contestants in the annual pageant are judged on poise, elegance and beauty.

As part of their on-stage presentation, contestants in the pageant had to tell about their hobbies and answer a question beforehand, with the answers being read by the Parade of Beauties emcee as the contestant presented poise, elegance and beauty on stage.

This year's question was, "What is one thing you enjoy about Northeast?"

Hollingsworth responded with "Chloe enjoys spending time with the new friends that she has made at Northeast and enjoys cheering on the Tigers every Thursday night during football season."

Hollingsworth listed her hobbies as working out, cheering on the Tiger football team, being a member of the Northeast cheer squad, singing and giving makeovers.

During her time at Northeast, Hollingsworth plans to focus on an area of concentration in chemical engineering.

Before Hollingsworth was crowned as the 2021-22 Most Beautiful, the 43-contestant field was narrowed down to a Top 10 before the four 'beauties' took the stage and the announcement of the Most Beautiful at Northeast Mississippi Community College.

Lynsie Burns of Booneville, Melly Gardner of Baldwyn, Dakari MacDonald of Sheffield, Alabama, Marykate Nobles of New Albany along with Hollingsworth were included in the Top 5 of the pageant.

In addition to Hollingsworth, MacDonald, Gardner, Nobles and Burns, Katie Gentry of Blue Springs, Channing Hurt of Ripley, Karley Conwill of Baldwyn, Jaycee Drew Janzen of Booneville and Madison Bennett of New Albany were named to the Top 10 out of the 43 contestants.

Other winners for the night included awards for scholastics and photogenic categories.

Saltillo's Addison Finch, who is studying criminal psychology, took home the award for the Most Scholastic in the pageant as the Saltillo native has a 3.92 grade point average on a 4.0 scale. Criteria for the Scholastic Award includes the contestant with the highest grade point average on a 4.0 scale with at least 28 hours at the college.

In addition to the Scholastic Award, Gardner was picked for the title of Most Photogenic, an award that requires contestants to submit a photo of their choosing beforehand and the judges select the most photogenic from the submitted photos.

Northeast Campus Country members Reese Horton, Andre Hunt and Rheagan Skelton supplied entertainment for the evening while Northeast assistant director of bands Dr. Jason Beghtol served as emcee for the night.
