NEMCC announces Fall 2026 residence hall move-in schedule, requirements for campus housing

BOONEVILLE, Miss. -- (07/23/2026) — Northeast Mississippi Community College has announced residence hall move-in dates and requirements for students living on campus during the Fall 2026 semester.

While student-athletes and members of select campus organizations will begin arriving in late July and early August for preseason practices, rehearsals and training, most residential students will move into one of Northeast's five residence halls between August 9 and August 11.

Residence halls include Yarber Hall and White Hall for men, Mississippi Hall and Murphy Hall for women, and Wood Hall, which offers co-habitational housing with men and women housed in separate wings.

To help reduce traffic and create a smoother check-in process, the college's housing office has assigned move-in times based on residence hall floor and room number.

Students assigned to first-floor rooms in all residence halls will move in on Sunday, August 9, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m.

Students assigned to second-floor rooms will move in on Monday, August 10.

Residents with even-numbered rooms should arrive between 8 a.m. and noon, while those with odd-numbered rooms should arrive between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Students assigned to third-floor rooms will move in on Tuesday, August 11.

Students may remain on campus after checking into their residence halls.

Meal service in the college's Sodexo cafeteria inside the Haney Union begins Tuesday, August 11, at 5 p.m.

Fall 2026 Residence Hall Move-In Schedule

  • Sunday, August 9: All residence halls, first-floor rooms, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Monday, August 10: All residence halls, second-floor rooms. Even-numbered rooms, 8 a.m. to noon. Odd-numbered rooms, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Tuesday, August 11: All residence halls, third-floor rooms. Even-numbered rooms, 8 a.m. to noon. Odd-numbered rooms, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Students must complete all financial obligations before arriving on campus.

Residence hall assignments will be forfeited if all required fees are not paid by July 30.

Students using Pell Grants, scholarships or other financial aid should complete all required steps through the Financial Aid Office before contacting the Business Office to ensure payments have been applied to their accounts.

Northeast Financial Aid is located in Ramsey Hall, Room 113, and can be reached at 662-720-7205.

Students living on campus also must continue meeting residential life eligibility requirements throughout the semester.

Residents must maintain full-time enrollment by taking at least 12 semester hours, including a minimum of nine seated, in-person credit hours.

Students also must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 1.75 and keep tuition, housing and meal plan accounts current according to the college payment schedule.

College officials encourage students to review all housing policies, required forms and updates available through the housing office's page on the Northeast website before arriving on campus.

Only certified or registered emotional support animals and service animals approved through Northeast's Office of Disabilities are permitted in campus housing. Students seeking approval should contact Leigh Ann Stewart at 662-720-7192 before move-in.

Approved emotional support animals will be housed in Murphy Hall for female students and White Hall for male students.

Northeast officials also remind students that roommate assignments may change if a roommate cancels a housing reservation before move-in. Replacement roommates may be assigned without prior notification.

Residential hall staff will be available throughout move-in to assist students and families and make the move-in process as seamless as possible.
