NEMCC Career Development Academy to offer free summer camps for area youth

Northeast's CDA will hold three-day camps five times during the summer

BOONEVILLE, Miss. - (04/17/2025) — Northeast Mississippi Community College's Career Development Academy (NEMCC CDA) is offering a series of free summer camps for students in the fourth through twelfth grades during the months of June and July.

Northeast's CDA summer camps will be held on five separate dates: June 2-4, June 9-11, June 23-25, July 7-9, and July 14-16.

"We're excited to offer these summer camps to students in our community," said NEMCC CDA Project Director and Academics Coordinator Austin Beasley. "Our goal is to provide a fun and educational experience that will help students develop important life skills not only in the classroom but in life as well."

Each camp will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with drop-off and pick-up taking place at the Student Activities Office inside the Haney Union on Northeast's Booneville campus.

Parents are reminded that all pick up should be completed by 4 p.m. sharply.

All meals and snacks will be provided at no cost.

NEMCC CDA's summer camp initiative is made possible through a continued partnership with the Mississippi Department of Human Services.

Camps are designed to provide students with hands-on experiences in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM), as well as promote healthy living, fitness, reading enrichment, and preventative education.
