NEMCC celebrates 18th Reserve Officers' Law Enforcement Training Academy Class
BOONEVILLE, Miss. -- (01/05/2024) — Northeast Mississippi Community College's Office of Continuing Education held its 18th Reserve Officers' Law Enforcement Training Academy on Sunday, December 3, 2023, in the Holliday Hall Auditorium. Seven cadets joined the ranks of law enforcement officers from across the northeast Mississippi area. While in the academy, cadets were taught about community policing, how to conduct themselves in public, firearms training, defensive driving skills, physical fitness and a myriad of other skills that they can use while in the field. Graduating from the Reserve Officers' Law Enforcement Training Academy at Northeast Mississippi Community College on Sunday, December 3 were (front row l-r) James Hunter Arnold of the Prentiss County Sheriff's Department, Michael Adam Bryant of the Tippah County Sheriff's Department, Cody Triplett of the Prentiss County Sheriff's Department and Brittney Sanders of the Booneville Police Department along with (back row l-r) Reserve Officers' Law Enforcement Training Academy training officer Josh Fortenberry, Alfredo "AJ" Navarro of the Prentiss County Sheriff's Department, Nicholas Reed Bronson of the Northeast Mississippi Community College Campus Police Department and Matthew McNair of the Farmington Police Department. During the Reserve Officers' Law Enforcement Training Academy, cadets are judged on different areas of discipline, with Navarro working his way to the Physical Fitness Award, Bryant traversing his way to the Defensive Driving Award, Bronson studying to the Academic Award, Bryant also shot his way to the Firearms Award and Sanders earning the Comprehensive Achievement Award. The next Reserve Officers' Law Enforcement Training Academy at Northeast is slated to start in March, with applications opening in late January and/or early February.
