NEMCC CHANGES FALL iPAD PICKUP

BOONEVILLE, Miss. -- (07/15/2020) — Northeast Mississippi Community College has changed the way the college will handle student iPad pickup for the Fall 2020 semester to help slow the spread of COVID-19 (novel coronavirus).

Previously, Northeast held large meetings to aid students in setting up their devices for the fall, however, this year's iPad pickup will be by curbside appointment only.

iPad pick up will start on Tuesday, July 28 at 8 a.m. and will run through normal business hours - Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. and on Fridays from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. (noon).

For students wanting to pick up an iPad, they need to fill out the form on the NEMCC.edu website entitled "Fall iPad Pick-Up" and provide the necessary information.

Before coming to campus, students should check the email provided on the form for confirmation.

When arriving on campus, students should proceed to the U-turn of Cunningham Boulevard near the fountain and someone will visit their vehicle to verify their name and student identification number.

Students are reminded to not only to bring their student identification number but a government-issued photo identification such as a driver's license to pick up their iPad.

Students should stay in their vehicles the entire time.

If a student misses their scheduled time, they will be designated as a walk-up and may need to wait longer.

For students, who have their own iPad and do not want to purchase one, they must meet three criteria to register it for classes.

First, the device must be running the latest iOS (iOS 13.5). Second, the screen must not be shattered and finally, the device must be the one the student will be using in class.

To register a device and signal that the student does not want to buy a one, they must fill out the form at https://nemcc.formstack.com/forms/ipad_registration_sp19_copy_1

A picture of the device to prove that the screen is not shattered and the iPad Serial number will be required to complete the form.

It is not too late to register for Fall 2020 classes at Northeast. For those wishing to register, visit the college's website at http://www.nemcc.edu and click the green "Apply Now," button.

Northeast is slated to start classes for the Fall 2020 semester on Monday, August 3 and will finish the fall semester before the Thanksgiving Holidays.
