NEMCC Office of Continuing Education offers Radiology Workshop for Dental Assistants
BOONEVILLE, Miss. (07/31/2024) — Northeast Mississippi Community College's (NEMCC) Office of Continuing Education has announced the launch of its Radiology Workshop for Dental Assistants for the 2024-2025 academic year.
Northeast's Radiology Workshop for Dental Assistants is aimed at training and certifying dental assistants to take radiographs in dental offices. This comprehensive program is designed to provide participants with the essential skills and knowledge in dental radiology.
Each workshop will cover fundamental topics, including:
- X-ray physics and radiation characteristics
- Dental x-ray machine operation and radiation protection
- Image receptors and digital radiography
- Dental radiographic anatomy and intra- and extra-oral radiographic procedures
To accommodate working professionals, all workshops will be held on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., combining both lecture and lab sessions in a single day.
Workshop dates are: August 17, September 21, October 19, November 9, December 14, January 18, 2025, February 15, 2025, March 29, 2025, April 19, 2025, May 17, 2025, and June 14, 2025.
Classes will take place in the Northeast Dental Hygiene Program's area on the fourth floor of Childers Hall.
Cost for the workshop is $155. Refunds are available only if cancellations are received at least three working days prior to the workshop date.
Due to the hands-on nature of the training, workshops are limited to just six participants per session. Enrollment is accepted on a first-come, first-pay basis.
Northeast's Radiology Workshop for Dental Assistants is not only available for those who are seeking certification in the topic but is open to those who need re-certification as well.
