NEMCC opens registration for Fall 2024 Career Development Academy
Eight different program sites will be available to students beginning in September and October
BOONEVILLE, Miss. (08/21/2024) — Northeast Mississippi Community College (NEMCC) is currently registering students for the Fall 2024 semester of its Career Development Academy (CDA).
Northeast's Career Development Academy is available to students in Grades 4-12 and provides a comprehensive range of services aimed at academic success, career exploration, life enrichment, and family engagement.
Northeast's Career Development Academy is structured around four key pillars:
- Academic Support: Offering tutoring, homework assistance, test preparation, and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) activities to enhance students' academic performance.
- Career Exploration: Providing career exploration and guidance, along with ACT testing preparation, to help students plan for their future careers.
- Life Enrichment: Focusing on essential life skills, including financial management, physical fitness, nutrition, culinary arts, cultural awareness, and gardening.
- Family Enrichment: Promoting parental involvement and engagement through programs that enhance parenting skills.
For the Fall 2024 semester, Northeast's Career Development Academy will start at the following locations starting in September 2024:
- Northeast Mississippi Community College Campus in Booneville
- Wheeler Attendance Center
- Thrasher Attendance Center
- Jumpertown Attendance Center
- Kossuth Middle School
- Myrtle Attendance Center
Additional program sites will be offered at Marietta Elementary School and Hills Chapel Elementary School beginning in October 2024.
Registration for the Career Development Academy is free of charge for all students, thanks to a partnership with the Mississippi Department of Human Services.
