NEMCC recognized as a 2024 ALL IN Most Engaged Campus for College Student Voting

BOONEVILLE, Miss. -- (11/19/2024) — Northeast Mississippi Community College (NEMCC) has been named a 2024 ALL IN Most Engaged Campus for College Student Voting by the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge.
This designation honors colleges and universities for their commitment to increasing nonpartisan student voter participation and fostering democratic engagement.
Northeast previously received this distinction in 2022 and continues to build on its efforts to empower student civic engagement.
During the Fall 2024 semester, the college along with its Civic Learning and Democratic Engagement committee held a voter drive that helped register students for the 2024 election cycle.
Committee members along with volunteers set up in the Haney Union and Patterson Hall to make sure that students had the opportunity to register to vote in the 2024 Presidential election.
Northeast's recognition comes as part of a nationwide initiative, with 471 institutions honored in 2024 for their intentional work in this area.
To receive this award, Northeast met the following requirements:
- Participated in the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge.
- Shared 2022 National Study of Learning, Voting, and Engagement (NSLVE) reports with ALL IN, detailing campus voting data.
- Developed and submitted a 2024 nonpartisan democratic engagement action plan to ALL IN by October 1, 2024.
- Maintained a current signatory to ALL IN's Higher Education Presidents' Commitment to Full Student Voter Participation.
The ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge works to engage more than 1,075 higher education institutions and 10.8 million students nationwide. The program provides resources and support to institutionalize civic learning and democratic engagement on college campuses.
