NEMCC's Campus Country gears up for packed Fall 2024 semester
Off-campus shows include performance in Corinth, Booneville and Iuka
BOONEVILLE, Miss. (09/24/2024) — Northeast Mississippi Community College's Campus Country is gearing up for a packed Fall 2024 semester.
Northeast's Campus Country is comprised of a talented group of musicians, rooted in country music but versatile in various genres including gospel, rock, and pop.
Campus Country's Fall 2024 performance schedule is packed with both on- and off-campus events to help broaden the group's reach.
Campus Country's main dates for the semester included its first Showtime of the year on Thursday, September 12 at 7 p.m. and its second Showtime in the Hines Hall Auditorium on Thursday, November 14 at 7 p.m.
Showtime admission is free to Northeast employees and students with a current ID and is only $10 to the public. Seating in the Hines Hall Auditorium is limited as the group usually packs the venue to standing room only (SRO) status so arrive early to get a good seat.
In addition to two on-campus Showtime performances, Campus Country played a critical role in welcoming prospective students during the college's first Northeast NOW recruitment event on Friday, September 20. Campus Country will get a second and third opportunity to be community ambassadors for the college during Northeast NOW events on Friday, October 18 and Friday, November 1.
Northeast NOW recruitment events give potential students a unique opportunity to experience the vibrant culture at Northeast Mississippi Community College and Campus Country plays a vital role in helping to welcome students to campus.
Campus Country's talents will also be on display beyond the college grounds with a busy schedule of community performances.
Following its September 12 Showtime, the group embarked on a whirlwind week of performances including following up its Northeast NOW performance with a nighttime show at the Alcorn County Fair at the Crossroads Arena in Corinth and two other off-campus events:
- Tuesday, September 24: The Triangle in downtown Booneville, 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
- Saturday, September 28: Tishomingo County Farmer's Market at Jaybird Park in Iuka, 5:30 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Campus Country will continue its community engagement with a performance at the Booneville Fall Festival on Saturday, October 19, from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
All performance times are tentative and may be subject to change due to other performance groups, weather, and other unforeseen circumstances.
