NEMCC's Eaton elected to important state-wide role

BOONEVILLE, Miss. (07/20/2024) — Northeast Mississippi Community College Vice President of Institutional Advancement and Executive Director of the Development Foundation and Alumni Association D. Patrick Eaton has been elected to serve a second term as vice president of the Mississippi Community College Alumni & Advancement Association (MSCCAAA).

Eaton, who holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE), was elected to the position at the MSCCAAA's 2024 annual conference on the campus of Mississippi Delta Community College in Moorhead.

"I greatly appreciate the other 14 community colleges electing me to this position and I will do my very best to move our outstanding Mississippi community college system forward," said Eaton.

With his re-election to the MSCCAAA Executive Committee, Eaton will be able to continue advocating for the advancement of the community college system throughout the state and underscores his commitment and leadership within the Mississippi community college system.

During the conference, representatives from all 15 of the Magnolia State's community colleges converged to discuss and endorse the upcoming 2025 legislative recommendations produced by the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC).

The Mississippi Community College Alumni & Advancement Association state conference also saw endorsements from other key organizations, including the Mississippi Community College Board, the Mississippi Faculty Association for Community and Junior Colleges, the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior College Trustees Association, Student VOICES, and the Mississippi Association of Adult and Continuing Education.
