BOONEVILLE, Miss. -- (04/20/2023) — Northeast Mississippi Community College's Eula Dees Memorial Library will celebrate National Library Week 2023 April 24-27.

National Library Week highlights the importance of libraries in communities and recognizes the challenging work of librarians who dedicate themselves to improving the lives of their patrons.

To kick off the week-long celebration, the library will host a coloring competition on April 24 from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. This fun activity is open to all students and offers a chance to highlight their artistic skills. The Library will post all entries to social media, and the top three entries with the most likes and comments will win a prize.

On April 25-26, students can complete the Library Scavenger Hunt between the hours of 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. The scavenger hunt is a great way to explore the Northeast Library and learn more about the educational and leisure resources it offers.

For Northeast students and employees, who want to help celebrate all that the Eula Dees Memorial Library does for the college, the librarians will host a pizza party on April 26 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Not only does the pizza party serve as a great opportunity to meet the librarians and fellow patrons but it provides a chance to learn more about the library's resources and services.

During National Library Week, the winners of the scavenger hunt and coloring competition will be announced on social media on April 27 at 9 a.m.

Northeast's Eula Dees Memorial Library has undergone significant changes in the last few years and has developed areas to embrace the technology needs of both employees and students. The library has converted some of its group meeting rooms into fully functional media centers with green screen walls, high-speed internet, and collaboration spaces.

Additionally, the library offers a wide range of resources and services to support students, including access to a vast collection of books, journals, and digital materials, as well as research assistance and technology support.

Northeast's Eula Dees Memorial Library is committed to providing students with the resources and support they need to succeed academically and beyond.
