NEMCC Scholar's Bowl team to host Pop Culture Trivia night

by Michael H. Miller

BOONEVILLE, Miss. -- (09/02/2025) — Northeast Mississippi Community College's Scholars' Bowl team will bring the excitement of trivia to campus this fall by hosting a Pop Culture Trivia Night for faculty, staff, and students on Monday, September 8, at 6 p.m. in the Claude Wright Room of the Haney Union.

Northeast's pop culture event invites teams of up to five participants to test their knowledge of movies, television, music, sports, and more in a fun and competitive atmosphere.

Entry fee is $5 per participant, and prizes will be awarded to the winning team(s) based on the number of entrants.

All proceeds from the event will directly benefit Northeast's nationally recognized Scholars' Bowl program, which made history earlier this year with its highest-ever finish at the National Academic Quiz Tournaments, LLC (NAQT) 2025 Community College Championship Tournament in Rosemont, Illinois.

Questions for the Pop Culture Trivia Night will begin promptly at 6 p.m., and participants are encouraged to arrive early to check in and get settled.

For more information or to make a donation to support the Scholars' Bowl team, contact team advisor Jillian Guy at jjguy@nemcc.edu.
