NEMCC Student Success Center announces 2024-2025 Success Workshops
BOONEVILLE, Miss. (08/20/2024) — Northeast Mississippi Community College's Student Success Center has announced its annual Student Success Workshops for the 2024-2025 academic year.
Northeast's Student Success Workshops are designed to empower students with the tools, skills, and knowledge necessary to excel academically and personally.
Workshops will be held every other Wednesday from 12:10 to 12:40 p.m. in the Co-Lab inside Wright Hall on the Booneville campus.
Fall 2024: Focused on Student Excellence
The Fall semester workshops will center on guiding students to become the best they can be academically:
August 28: Resources to the Rescue - An introduction to the Student Success Center's resources.
September 11: AI EmpowerED - Enhancing the learning experience with artificial intelligence.
September 25: Study Skills 101 - Developing effective study habits for college success.
October 9: Navigating the Ins & Outs of Safe Online Dating - Ensuring safety and awareness in the digital age.
October 23: Creating Community - Tips for building and maintaining friendships in college.
November 6: The Great Balancing Act - Mastering time management and organizational skills.
November 20: WhewThat's a Lot! - Addressing anxiety and depression during college.
Spring 2025: Building a Well-Rounded Student
In the Spring semester, workshops will focus on holistic student development, preparing students for success both in and out of the classroom:
January 22: The Big Bounce Back - Using resilience to achieve academic and personal success.
February 5: Money Matters - Budgeting and saving strategies for college students.
February 19: The Self Love Journey - Embracing and celebrating individuality.
March 5: I Can Do it Later - Overcoming procrastination.
March 19: Seeing Red - Practical ways to manage anger effectively.
April 2: Career Chronicles - Preparing for job interviews and career success.
April 16: Finishing Strong - Essential tasks for wrapping up the school year successfully.
Organizers encourage all students to attend the student success workshops to enhance their college experience and prepare for future challenges.
