NEMCC to offer Water Bath Canning course
BOONEVILLE, Miss. -- (06/12/2023) — Northeast Mississippi Community College's Office of Continuing Education will offer a way to keep the summer harvest going long into the latter stages of the year with its latest course offering.
Northeast's "Summertime: Preserving the Harvest" class is set to take place on Tuesday, June 13 from 6-9 p.m. in Waller Hall on the Northeast-Booneville campus.
This engaging and interactive class will provide participants with hands-on experience and insightful discussions on the art of Water Bath Canning.
Organizers have stated that this is a must-attend class for anyone wanting to learn about water bath canning or those passionate about culinary exploration and preserving the vibrant flavors of summer.
Northeast culinary arts instructor Ginger Cramer is slated to lead the class and give participants the opportunity to learn the time-honored tradition of water bath canning.
During the class, attendees will delve into the history and significance of preserving food, discovering the secrets behind this cherished Southern tradition.
Participants will gain practical skills as they engage in the canning process and ensure that the essence of the season can be enjoyed long after summer fades away.
Admission to the class is $25 per person but spaces are limited, so interested individuals are encouraged to secure their spots as soon as possible.
