NEMCC Wins Prestigious Ellucian Idol Award for Best Dashboard

BOONEVILLE, Miss. (07/25/2024) — Northeast Mississippi Community College has been awarded one of the top honors in the country by Ellucian, the leading provider of higher education technology solutions.

Ellucian announced earlier this year that Northeast had won its 2024 Ellucian Idol Award for Best Overall Desktop for the college's MyNEMCC portal.

Ellucian's Idol Award competition highlights customer innovations using Ellucian Experience, celebrates institutions that have effectively utilized the platform's centralized, user-friendly dashboard to enhance engagement and access to relevant information for students and staff.

Ellucian's Experience Idol competition invited higher education institutions to customize the Ellucian Experience dashboard, focusing on three categories: innovation, student success, and overall dashboard.

Finalists were chosen through peer voting and presented their dashboards on the mainstage at Ellucian Live 2024, one of th premier technology conferences for higher education.

"Our inaugural Experience Idol winners demonstrate the power of Ellucian Experience's vast array of resources to elevate the higher education experience and showcase the platform's user-friendly interface enabled through SaaS," said Mike Wulff, Chief Product and Technology Officer at Ellucian. "Customer innovations within Experience are tailored for the unique needs of an institution and its students. Our community is learning together - sharing best-in-class examples of what's possible and inspiring others to explore creative new ways to improve outcomes for learners."

Northeast's award-winning dashboard stood out to the voters for its intentional design, blending the institution's branding with practical functionality.

Northeast's dashboard features the college mascot on various cards and uses Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) records to display targeted information to specific student groups.

By doing this, Northeast's approach ensures that students receive only relevant information, allowing them to focus on urgent tasks such as bill payments, course registration, and financial aid eligibility.

As the 2024 Ellucian Idol Award for Best Overall Desktop, Northeast will receive a $5,000 Student Experience Scholarship, an Ellucian Flex Plus Professional Services Package to support further innovation within the Experience platform, and a four-hour session with an Experience Software Development Kit (SDK) Engineer.

Albany State University was also recognized as a finalist for their MyASU Portal, which delivers critical information tailored to each student while maintaining a consistent visual brand.

Albany State's portal helps students quickly identify and act on important information such as financial aid packages, account balances, and grade point average.
