Project Domino Effect announces second annual Anthony Anderson Memorial Softball Game

Game and festivities to take place at NEMCC's The Plex

by Michael H. Miller

BOONEVILLE, Miss. -- (09/04/2025) — Project Domino Effect (PDE) will host the Second Annual Anthony Anderson Memorial Softball Game on Saturday, October 25 at 1 p.m. at the Northeast Mississippi Community College Baseball/Softball Complex, located at 600 N. Third Street in Booneville.

PDE's event honors the life and legacy of Chief Anthony Anderson, one of northeast Mississippi's most respected and influential law enforcement leaders.

Anderson dedicated decades of service to the Northeast Mississippi Community College Police Department, the Verona Police Department and the Union County Sheriff's Department and surrounding communities before his sudden passing in March 2024 during a Lady Tigers playoff basketball game at Northeast's Bonner Arnold Coliseum.

Known for his unwavering commitment to public safety and his deep compassion for others, Anderson's impact continues to resonate across the region.

Last year's inaugural game drew more than 500 attendees, bringing together community members, friends, and colleagues to celebrate Anderson's legacy through fellowship, friendly competition, and giving back.

Sponsorships Now Available

Sponsorship packages are available at the Bronze ($100), Silver ($200), Gold ($400), and Platinum ($600) levels, each offering recognition on event banners and social media, as well as complimentary tickets to the game.

PDE also welcomes one-time donations and in-kind contributions from individuals or businesses who wish to support the cause without becoming formal sponsors.

Supporting a Greater Mission

Twenty percent of all proceeds will benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, advancing vital research and treatment efforts. The remaining 80 percent will help cover event costs and allow Project Domino Effect to continue its mission of performing random acts of kindness throughout Booneville, Baldwyn, and Prentiss County.

Examples of PDE's community outreach include providing shoes for local schoolchildren, supplying meals for families in need, ensuring Christmas gifts for underprivileged families, and assisting other community events and charitable causes.

Organizers believe that every act, big or small, is possible because of the community's support and shared belief in the mission.

About Project Domino Effect

Project Domino Effect is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to spreading kindness throughout northeast Mississippi. The group's philosophy is rooted in the belief that one small act can set off a chain reaction of positive change -- just like a line of falling dominoes.
