That's a lot of cheddar: NEMCC Phi Theta Kappa concludes successful Spring cheese sale
Between the fall and spring cheese sale, Northeast PTK sold over 5,300 two-pound blocks of Wisconsin cheddar
BOONEVILLE, Miss. -- (04/23/2026) — Northeast Mississippi Community College's Iota Zeta chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society recently completed another landmark fund-raiser, selling over 2,500 blocks of Wisconsin cheddar during its 2026 spring cheese sale.
Northeast's spring effort, paired with a record-setting fall campaign, brought the chapter's total sales for the 2025-2026 academic year to 5,300 two-pound blocks of cheese -- equal to roughly 2.65 tons.
Participation among members remained strong as students worked collaboratively to manage orders, promote the fund-raiser and coordinate distribution.
Leading up to delivery, the group organized a dedicated pickup event in the Haney Union's Black and Gold Room, allowing members to collect their orders conveniently on campus.
Each block of Mild, Sharp, or Extra Sharp Wisconsin cheddar sold for $15, with proceeds benefiting Phi Theta Kappa's ongoing leadership development activities and service projects.
Funding also assists members with travel and participation in regional and national conferences.
