by Michael H. Miller

BOONEVILLE, Miss. (06/08/2020) — Northeast Mississippi Community College's Mobile Learning Conference has traveled around the world in less than 80 days.

Since opening registration in late March, officials with the conference report that not only are Mississippians signing up for one of the top technology conferences in the southeastern United States but representatives from 29 states and Washington, D.C. along with 15 different countries other than the United States will be joining in to harness "The Power of Learning."

Slated for Monday, June 15 through Wednesday, June 17, the three-day conference covers a variety of topics from novice to expert when it comes to education, life after COVID-19 and other topics of general interest.

Deadline to apply for the free event is Monday, June 15 and registration can be done at https://mobile-learning-12.heysummit.com

In total, over 260 different institutes of learning are attending the three-day event.

Mississippi leads the way with approximately 120 different institutes of learning -- from private education foundations and schools to the K-12 ranks and into higher education, but the reach of the Mobile Learning Conference does not stop there.

Texas, Florida, California and New York account for over 60 educational institutions sending representatives to the virtual conference while Ireland is the early leader in the international clubhouse with seven schools wanting to be a part of one of the top educational technology conferences in the southeastern United States.

Twenty-nine states and Washington, D.C. have signed up to be part of the event including representatives from Alabama, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia and West Virginia.

Ireland's seven schools lead on the international side with Canada, Belgium and South Africa right on the Emerald Isle's heels. The United Kingdom, Brazil, Denmark, Egypt, Germany, Greece, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Saudi Arabia round out the international flavor of Northeast's Mobile Learning Conference.

Fifty (50) experts across the education spectrum will be on hand to give lessons in everything from higher education to technical knowledge to pedagogy, to mobile device management to even creative teaching sessions and photography.

Included in the fifty experts across the education spectrum are some of the top-tier presenters from many national and international conferences such as the International Society for Technology Education (ISTE) and the Mobile Technology in Teacher Education (MiTE) conferences.

With over 1,5000 attendees already registered for the three-day event, sessions will deal with education while others are geared toward the public such as moving on after COVID-19 and learning how to use a MacBook.

For educators looking to renew their teaching licenses, the Mobile Learning Conference is offering up to three continuing education units (CEUs) at a nominal fee.

For those attending 30 sessions of the conference, educators will receive the full allotment of three CEUs. Ten (10) sessions will get a participant one CEU and twenty sessions will get an educator two CEUs.

Each session is slated to run approximately one hour with sessions beginning at 9 a.m. each day and ending around 5 p.m. Multiple sessions are available at the same time for those that want to multitask during the conference.

Educators do not have to fret if they want to experience the entire conference and cannot fit it all into three days, sessions will be archived so participants can go back and have information on-demand.
