Prime seats left for NEMCC's Jeffrey Powell Mobile Learning Conference
Two-day virtual conference only costs $25; Participants have a chance to earn two (2) CEUs from the event
BOONEVILLE, Miss. -- (05/24/2024) — Northeast Mississippi Community College's Jeffrey Powell Mobile Learning Conference still has prime spots available for educators and anyone who wants to know more about technology usage in education for its 2024 version of the two-day conference.
Northeast's Mobile Learning Conference is set for June 10-11 and will be presented in a virtual format so that attendees can visit sessions from the comfort of their homes or offices without having to spend valuable travel budget monies to attend.
In offering the conference in a virtual format, organizers have opened the conference up to people around the world to come in, share and learn all about the advancements of technology in the classroom and beyond.
Unlike many conferences that charge upwards of $500 to attend, Northeast has almost eliminated the financial barriers to attend the conference. Entry fee to the 2024 Jeffrey Powell Mobile Learning Conference at Northeast Mississippi Community College is only $25 and that covers both days of the event.
For those needing Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for renewal of professional licenses or other reasoning, a $12 processing fee will be added, making the entire conference under $40 for entry fee and two (2) CEUs.
Organizers have spent the last 12 months trying to make the 2024 event one of the best in Mobile Learning Conference history.
Thirty (30) speakers are set to present over the two-day event which starts at 8:45 a.m. on Monday and ends at 4 p.m. while Tuesday's sessions go from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Northeast will offer over 25 sessions during the two-day conference with many sessions focusing on artificial intelligence and how it can help and aid education, book creation in the classroom and app design and coding.
In helping to make educators' lives a little easier, sessions will also talk about technology's role in the classroom, digital resources, productivity tools and how to improve communication between the student and the instructor.
Participants in the Mobile Learning Conference will also learn about challenge-based learning and how to include accessibility into everything that they do to help making learning easier for everyone.
While Northeast hosts the event and will have six of its faculty and staff leading sessions during the conference, over 25 more presenters around the world will have the opportunity to glean their knowledge onto the audience.
Instructors from Austin Community College, East Central Community College, the Gordon County School District, Hallsville East Elementary School, Jackson State Community College, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, the Oxford School District, Prince William County, Southwest Mississippi Community College, University of Central Arkansas and the Mississippi Community College Board are all slated to present during the conference.
In addition to current educators, those who support the educational system are also ready to lend a helping hand at the conference including those from the retiree ranks, the Mississippi AI Collaborative, Apple's Professional Learning Specialists ranks, and businesses such as friEdTech, Genially and Harmonize.

Northeast Mississippi Community College's Mobile Learning Conference began in 2009 as a small, local workshop held on the Booneville campus. Jeffrey Powell, founder of the Mobile Learning Conference, had a vision to connect educators using one common theme - technology. Powell was an Apple Distinguished Educator (Class of 2013) and had an unparalleled drive to continue learning more about the integration of technology in education. Through his efforts, Mobile Learning has grown from a small, local workshop to a worldwide virtual event. In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic forced Mobile Learning to go virtual, and what seemed like overnight, the Mobile Learning Conference was a global event. Today, Mobile Learning Conference hosts presenters and attendees across the U.S. and beyond.
