Northeast Mississippi Community College native son Malcolm “Mal” White accepts his Alumni Hall of Fame proclamation from Northeast president Dr. Ricky G. Ford in the Claude Wright Room of the Haney Union in fall 2021. Northeast Mississippi Community College's Showband from Tigerland is set to take part in three Christmas/holiday parades during the late stages of the Fall 2023 semester. Northeast kicks off its parade season at the Iuka Christmas parade on December 1 before returning to the City of Hospitality and the Booneville Christmas parade on December 4. Northeast wraps up its parade route one night later on December 5 as the nearly 150-member band takes part in the City of Baldwyn's annual holiday parade.
