Members of the Northeast Mississippi Community College’s Development Foundation Board of Directors celebrate the establishment of a scholarship endowment fund by The Franks Foundation Board of Directors which generously donated $5.4 million to the NEMCC Development Foundation to continue the legacy in Northeast Mississippi of former Booneville attorney, the late Mr. Donald Franks, who was instrumental in the establishment of the country/western music program at Northeast in the early 80s.

Northeast Mississippi Community College officials have announced that the Booneville-based college has purchased the former Corinthian Furniture building and land at 2100 West Chambers Drive in Booneville so that the college can expand its career and technical education offerings. In addition to the massive career-technical educational complex, college officials are also planning a conference center at the site. With the purchase, Northeast expands its footprint in Prentiss County by 43 acres and 350,000 square feet.

Northeast Mississippi Community College held its annual Parade of Beauties pageant on Tuesday, November 9 in the Claude Wright Room of the Haney Union on the Booneville campus. Freshman Chloe Addison Hollingsworth of Tishomingo (center) bested a field of 43 contestants to take the crown of Most Beautiful for the 2021-22 academic year. Included in the Top 5 of the pageant (from left) were Melly Gardner of Baldwyn, Marykate Nobles of New Albany, Hollingsworth, Lynsie Burns of Booneville and Dakari MacDonald of Sheffield, Alabama. Addison Finch of Saltillo, who has a criminal psychology area of concentration, took home the Most Scholastic title with a 3.92 grade point average on a 4.0 scale and Gardner was crowned Most Photogenic by the judges. In addition to Hollingsworth, MacDonald, Gardner, Nobles and Burns, Katie Gentry of Blue Springs, Channing Hurt of Ripley, Karley Conwill of Baldwyn, Jaycee Drew Janzen of Booneville and Madison Bennett of New Albany were named to the Top 10.
