NEMCC Office of Continuing Education Announces 20th Reserve Officer Training Academy
BOONEVILLE, Miss. (08/06/2024) — Northeast Mississippi Community College (NEMCC) has announced the formation of its 20th Reserve Officer Training Academy.
Classes for the 20th Reserve Officer Training Academy are set to begin on Saturday, August 17 inside Waller Hall on the college's Booneville campus.
Cost for the academy is $750 per cadet, with flexible payment options available throughout the duration of the program.
As part of the rigorous preparation, participants are required to complete and return a comprehensive program packet, which includes a medical physical and an EKG, before attempting the physical fitness entrance exam.
Eligibility for the academy is contingent upon achieving a 50 percent passing score in all areas of the physical fitness entrance exam.
Additional requirements for participation include:
- A valid driver's license
- A birth certificate
- Passing a drug test
- Sponsorship by a local law enforcement agency
- A clear NCIC report from the sponsoring agency
- A high school diploma or GED
- Age 21 or older
- United States citizenship
Cadets must have training and certification in first aid and CPR and must provide their own weapon and ammunition for firearms training.
Access to a patrol car is essential for the Emergency Vehicle Driving Training segment of the academy.
Successful graduation from the academy requires a minimum score of 70 percent on the physical fitness exit exam.
